Don't Give Up
Don’t Give up!
What if the commander of the army of the King of Syria had dipped 6 times in the Jordan River and gave up? What if the four men who brought their paralyzed friend to Jesus saw the large crowd around the house and gave up? What if the father whose son had an unclean spirit had given up when the disciples couldn’t cast it out?
Throughout Scripture we see people who could have given up, but they overcame their fear, mustered their faith and pressed forward. Galatians 6:9 teaches us “And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.” The message is clear, it may take time but don’t give up because you will eventually reap and all the hours of toil will be worth it.
You probably have someone in your life who needs Jesus. No matter what you have tried, they just won’t turn their life over to Him. But don’t give up. Press on! If you are praying for someone, keep right on praying. If you have invited someone to the upcoming revival services and they don’t show up the first night, invite them to the second night. Be willing to do whatever it takes. Dip a seventh time, tear off the roof, go to Jesus. Just don’t give up!
These are your Words for Wednesday.
If you can attend the fellowship and prayer this Saturday at Pleasant Grove and have not let me know, I need to hear from you asap. Please take the opportunity this week to invite someone to the revival this Sunday. Remember that we will be meeting at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church this Sunday morning at 10:30 and the evening service will be at 7:00 pm. Have a great rest of your week!
In Christ,
Kevin
